The Mindanao Peacebuilding Institute Foundation Inc. (MPI) is now looking for volunteers to staff its Secretariat for the 2026 Annual Peacebuilding Training, to be held from May 18 to June 5, 2026, in Davao City, Philippines.
As Secretariat Team members, volunteers will deepen their understanding of peacebuilding and conflict transformation through interactions with participants from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. Download the Call for Volunteers document here.
Criteria for Volunteers
- Active participation in community-based programs, preferably with non-governmental or civil society organizations.
- Knowledge about peacebuilding/culture of peace activities is preferred.
- Openness to work in a multicultural setting and learn from this experience.
- Willingness to work under pressure and during odd hours.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to think on one’s feet and take initiative when necessary.
- Good English written and oral communication skills.
- Photography/Videography Skills for those interested in photo and video documentation.
- Administrative and logistical skills for those interested as an administrative assistant.
Main Tasks
During the Annual Peacebuilding Training, members of the Secretariat will serve and be assigned to specific tasks as class assistants, class documenters, photographers/videographers, and/or administrative/logistics assistants.
Dates
Volunteers are required to be available from May 12 to 31, 2026. Additionally, selected volunteers must commit to participating in orientation, team-building activities, and team evaluations. Specific details regarding these activities will be provided during the selection process.
Accommodations and Transportation
All volunteers will be provided with complimentary accommodation and meals throughout the Annual Training. MPI will cover the cost of overland transportation to and from Davao City for volunteers residing in Mindanao. Volunteers from Luzon, the Visayas, and other countries are responsible for their own domestic and international travel expenses, as well as any necessary visa fees.
