Alamada Peace Journey

Blessed with vast natural resources, Mindanao is aptly called the "Land of Promise." Here you can find the rarest and the best of nature's gift to mankind. Aside from its natural beauty, it is even made more colorful by a dynamic convergence of different cultures from Christian settlers, Bangsamoro, and the Indigenous peoples. But there is
another side of Mindanao; it is also known for sporadic armed conflicts, poverty and insurgency.

For so long, these issues and problems were not sincerely addressed by majority of its leaders and peoples. Not until they realized that the key to sustainable development is when people live peacefully and harmoniously. It can only happen when there is mutual understanding and respect of the rights of others. A peaceful dialogue is what it takes to understand one's differences and end the culture of violence. It is the key to overcome challenges and bring people toward a common goal.

The Alamada Peace Journey represents the fruit of this constructive dialogue. The culture of peace planted in the hearts and minds of the people slowly wipes out the dark shadows of the past: from a war-torn municipality to a center of peace in the region. The process is not yet finished. The divisive flames of discrimination, hatred, and selfishness must be totally eradicated in order to achieve lasting peace and a brighter future.
