As a Palestinian-American scholar and peace activist, Prof. Abu-Nimer epitomizes resilience and compassion in his lifelong pursuit of peace and interfaith dialogue. From conflict zones in Sri Lanka and the Gaza Strip to regions affected by ISIS insurgency, his unwavering dedication to reconciliation and nonviolence has brought hope to communities torn apart by violence. His legacy serves as a beacon of guidance, emphasizing the transformative power of dialogue and understanding in fostering lasting peace among all peoples and faiths. Notably, his commitment extends to the Mindanao Peacebuilding Institute Foundation (MPI), among other institutes globally, where he has played a pivotal role as one of the first founding facilitators.
The presentation ceremony will take place in Tokyo, Japan, on Tuesday, May 14 2024.
