The Mindanao Peacebuilding Institute (MPI) is now looking for volunteers to staff its Secretariat for its MPI 2025 Annual Peacebuilding Training that will be held from May 19 - 30, 2025 in Davao City, Philippines.

As Secretariat team members, volunteers will deepen their understanding of peacebuilding and conflict transformation through interactions with participants from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds. pdf Download the full criteria and tasks for volunteers!(146 KB)

Who are we looking for?

  1. Active participation in community-based programs, preferably with non-governmental or civil society organizations.
  2. Knowledge about peacebuilding/culture of peace activities is preferred.
  3. Openness to work in a multicultural setting and learn from this experience.
  4. Willingness to work under pressure and during odd hours.
  5. Ability to work in a team.
  6. Ability to think on one’s feet and take initiative when necessary.
  7. Good English written and oral communication skills.
  8. Photography/videography skills for those interested in photo and video documentation. 
  9. Administrative and logistical skills for those interested as an administrative assistant.

Aside from the invaluable knowledge and skills you will gain in peacebuilding and conflict transformation, you'll dive into a unique cultural exchange, connect with like-minded individuals, and contribute to positive change. Additionally, MPI will provide you with free board and lodging during the training and have your overland expenses covered if you are coming from Mindanao (Volunteers from Luzon and the Visayas in the Philippines and other countries are responsible for their own travel costs and visa expenses).

When do we need you?
Volunteers are required to be available from May 18 to 31, 2025. Additionally, selected volunteers must commit to participating in orientation, team-building activities, and team evaluations. Specific details regarding these activities will be provided during the selection process.
