Elsie M. Bacayo Annual Peacebuilding Training Scholarship Fund
Elsie Monida Bacayo, the eldest child of a farmer’s family, was a devoted wife, mother of four, and a woman known for her warmth and welcoming smile. She worked tirelessly to give her family a better life and passed away on September 17, 2017, after a prolonged illness. Elsie worked with us for three years and was an alumna of MPI’s Annual Peacebuilding Training. She was a model peacebuilder in a simple but profound way. She embodied peacebuilding in a quiet yet profound way, fully living the values of peace, love, and respect for life. In her honor, MPI established the Elsie M. Bacayo to support peacebuilders’ participation in MPI’s Annual Peacebuilding Training.
